Gryphonwald is a diverse collective of individuals coming together to study, experience, and recreate the art, leisure, and technology from centuries past. Attention is focused on life in the myriad cultures that existed throughout the world before 1600 ce.

The Canton, based in Middlesex County, New Jersey, is a regionally specific chapter of a non-profit educational organization called the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. (SCA).

The SCA divides itself into regions and chapters based on location. The Canton of Gryphonwald is a smaller group within the Barony of Settmour Swamp, which is in turn a part of the Kingdom of the East.

From archery to dance, fiber arts to melee, the SCA is an international community that offers a large array of pastimes, and countless gatherings during which to enjoy them.  The Newcomer's Portal is an excellent introduction to the Society in general, and it’s multitude of interests.
